The 2012 Toyota HiLux will go on sale in the UK this October, while in the Australia, the ‘indestructible’ Toyota truck will launch to the Australian press in August.
The latest version of the HiLux receives an all-new front end and comes equipped with a range of new high-tech features.
The interior has also been given a complete makeover for a more car-like experience including Toyota’s Touch multimedia display system with rear camera, USB port and Bluetooth.
The new HiLux front end includes a new bonnet with integrated air scoop, new radiator grille, headlamps and bumper along with new wheels and side steps for the range topping HiLux Invincible.
Inside the upper dashboard is all-new as is the instrument cluster 6.1-inch touchscreen display for a more roomy cabin feel.
Under the bonnet its an all diesel affair in the UK with both 2.5 D-4D and 3.0 D-4D Euro 5 light commercial compliant units that include a diesel particulate filter. This addition has reduced CO2 emissions by 10 percent to 194g/km and 203g/km respectively.
Standard transmission on board the new HiLux (in the UK) will be a five-speed manual and an optional five-speed automatic for the 3.0 D-4D powertrain.
