MINI confirmed this week that its first-ever take on the traditional five-door hatch look, the 2015 Cooper 5-Door, will arrive in Australia on November 1.
Priced from $27,750 plus on-roads, the new five-door model marks a $3250 premium over the most affordable 3-Door model - the recently launched MINI Cooper One - but nearly $4000 more affordable than the previous-generation Cooper.
Engine options include a turbo 100kW/220Nm 1.5 litre three-cylinder and a turbo 141kW/280Nm 2.0 litre four, while the Cooper D gets an 85kW/270Nm 1.5 three-cylinder diesel.
Jeep’s local arm outlined some of its future plans for Australia this week, speaking with TMR at the launch of the new diesel-powered Cherokee.
Expect the Renegade compact SUV to dominate Jeep headlines in 2015, with an arrival expected sometime in the second half of 2015.
It’ll be a further 12 months at least before the Compass and Patriot models see a replacement in Australia, with a single model expected to take the place of both.
