Subaru recalls Impreza, XV, WRX, WRX STI and Forester
A total of 121,754 cars have been recalled over an issue with the brake light switch across various model lines.
Subaru has issued a recall across its 2009-16 Impreza, 2012-15 XV, 2009-14 WRX, 2011-14 WRX STI and 2013-15 Forester model lines, over concerns about their 'Stop Light Switch'.
According to the company, the Stop Light Switch could be affected by 'outside contaminants', causing the electrical contact points to malfunction.
If the Stop Light Switch fails, the brake lights won't work, creating a heightened risk of accident on the move. There's also a risk the car mightn't restart after being turned off.
A total of 121,754 cars are included in the campaign – a VIN list is attached here.
Subaru will contact owners of the affected cars and advise them to organise a free fix with their nearest dealership.
