Subaru Impreza, Liberty, Outback recalled
Over 72,000 vehicles included in latest campaign
Subaru has recalled the 2004-2009 Impreza and 2008-2010 Liberty/Outback over concerns about the fuel pump wiring harness.
According to the company, the wiring harness connector on affected vehicles can deteriorate over time. That could stop the fuel pump operating correctly, potentially extending the time taken to crank the engine on startup, causing the car not to start or stall.
If the engine stalls and won't restart, this poses a hazard to the driver and other road users..
A total of 72,076 cars are included in the campaign: 21,870 Imprezas, 29,442 Libertys and 20,764 Outbacks, to be precise.
Subaru will contact owners of the affected vehicles by mail, and advise them to contact their nearest dealer for a fix.
