Skoda's all-new 2014 Octavia range will be here later this year, but if you're in the market right now, there's a deal to be had with the current model.
Introduced as production of the ageing second-gen model winds down, the Octavia Special Edition adds extra features and new drive-away pricing.
In six-speed manual form, the Special Edition is available for $21,990 for the sedan and $23,690 for the wagon, marking savings of $3000 and $3300 respectively. A seven-speed DSG auto can be had as an option.
Based on the 90TSI model, the Special Edition gets a 90kW 1.4 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, with fuel consumption listed at 6.7 l/100km for the manual and 6.5 l/100km for the auto.
Additional features with the Special Edition include 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, 'Columbus' sat-nav, eight speakers and a 30gb music hard drive.
There's also rain-sensing wipers and a centre storage armrest, while wagon models get silver roof rails.
Skoda says the Octavia Special Edition will be available from June 1, and will continue until supply of the current range runs out.
