New Genesis G80 hits the road … as a taxi
New Genesis G80 luxury sedan spotted working in South Korea
One of the first examples of the new 2021 Genesis G80 luxury sedan to be delivered, has been captured in the wild less than a month after the car was released – and it's been put to work as a taxi.
Though few details are known about the South Korean taxi, it's likely it would have been optioned with the 2.2-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder engine producing 154kW and 441Nm.
Engine specifications have yet to be announced for Australia, but we do know the G80 is also available with a 2.5-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder with 223kW and 421Nm, and a 3.5-litre turbo petrol V6 putting out 279kW and 530Nm.
All engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It's expected the new Genesis G80 will be popular amongst private hire operators and luxury ride-share drivers here in Australia, thanks to its generous luxury appointments, five-year warranty, and competitive pricing.
The G80 was spotted testing in Sydney in February 2020. It's understood that all Hyundai and Genesis models will benefit from a local tuning program to ensure the comfort and handling is suitable for our roads.
The Genesis G80 is due for release in Australia in late 2020. For more on the new model, see our Genesis G80 revealed story or visit the links below.
