Mitsubishi has revealed the latest evolution of its ongoing MiEV electric vehicle program, ushering its new CA-MiEV concept into Geneva this week.
Leaving behind the quirky bubble-car styling of the current i-MiEV hatch, the CA-MiEV showcases a more conventional - yet futuristic - styling language.
Like the Toyota Prius and Honda's Insight, both hybrids, Mitsubishi's all-electric CA-MiEV features a flowing profile designed to enhance aerodynamics and increase driving range.
Among the car's features are a set of high energy-density batteries, a wireless charging system, regenerative braking, and a new motor and inverter.
Specific powertrain details have not been revealed, but Mitsubishi says that depending on use, the CA-MiEV will offer a driving range of up to 300 kilometres between charges.
Mitsubishi is working to introduce a wide range of new electric and hybrid models by 2015, so expect to see a version of the CA-MiEV in showrooms in the next few years.
