Mercedes-Benz has introduced an updated SLK roadster range in Europe this week, ahead of a September debut for the Australian market.
Styling remains largely unchanged, but new engines, transmissions and standard features are all on board to freshen up the roadster that first appeared in 2010.
Powertrain changes include a 30Nm increase in torque for the 2.0 litre turbo SLK 200, now offering 135kW and 300Nm.

The 300 and the 150kW/500Nm SLK 250d both now get a nine-speed 9G-Tronic auto as standard, replacing the 7G-Tronic previously offered. The 9G's introduction also brings a redesigned gear lever and steering-mounted paddle shifters.
The SLK 300 can now also be had with a new six-speed manual with smoother and more precise shifts.
The 225kW/370Nm SLK 350 continues into the new model year, as does the AMG SLK 55 flagship with its 310kW/540Nm 5.5 litre V8.
