Multiple reports suggest the man was treated for minor injuries – with the exotic sports car believed to be a write-off.
A 40-year-old man will be without his Lamborghini Murcielago after he crashed into a power pole at a local car wash – with witnesses claiming they saw him cleaning the luxury vehicle before driving off and allegedly losing control.
Police were notified of the incident which took place this week in Bundall – an inner-city Gold Coast suburb.
According to multiple reports, the driver behind the wheel was reportedly treated for minor injuries – while his Lamborghini Murcielago, worth upwards of $500,000 – was allegedly assessed as a write-off due to the extensive damage done to the body of the high-performance vehicle.
Police told media they allegedly believed the man wasn’t intentionally speeding but “[he] hit the wrong pedal – which caused [this] destruction to a local business.”
9News claimed the road was closed while the vehicle was towed away from the scene.
Authorities have not specified if the driver will be charged with the incident.
