Car sales October 2012: SUV
The Mitsubishi Outlander has ended the October sales month in top spot for SUVs, in a segment itself up 28.6 per cent so far this year.
Mitsubishi shifted 1524 Outlander models, bettering the Nissan X-Trail (1498) and Toyota Prado (1257).
The Ford Territory (1227) remains a key sales success for the Blue Oval coming in fourth place ahead of the Mazda CX-5, which surprisingly managed just 1190 sales.
For another month the Holden Captiva 7 (1137) finished ahead of the Subaru Forester (1048), while the battle for eighth position proved to be an inter-brand struggle that came down to just nine vehicles between the Toyota Kluger (977) and Toyota LandCruiser Wagon (968), with the Toyota RAV4 (946) rounding out the top 10.
A total of 25,737 SUVs landed in driveways across Australia for the month, with overall sales for the segment reaching 254,132 units year-to-date.
