BMW Australia increases prices by up to $14,000, every model affected
German car-maker BMW continues to drive up the prices of its Australian line-up, with all 18 models impacted by the latest price hike.
German car-maker BMW has issued yet another round of considerable price rises to its range of cars in Australia, increasing the recommended retail cost of every model currently on sale in recent months by between $1800 and $14,000.
BMW Australia has increased prices of its local model line-up several times in the past three years, including in June 2020, November 2020, February 2021, April 2022, August 2022 and January 2023.
In March 2023, Drive exclusively revealed the average price of BMW's Australian cars had risen by 16.45 per cent between January 2019 and January 2023 – making it the 10th-highest ranked car company for price increases.
Now the Australian division of the German car-maker has again increased its prices, affecting all 18 models sold in BMW’s local showrooms.
Out of the 89 BMW model variants in Australia, all but one have been impacted by the latest round of the price rises, with the i7 M60 xDrive avoiding the hikes as it only went on sale late last year.
While a handful of models have escaped with price increases of $1800 (such as the BMW M2), other vehicles such as the new X5 and X6 SUV have jumped by up to $14,000 – coinciding with the arrival of a facelift.
