Aston Martin’s First EV To Feature In Upcoming Bond Film
It turns out that between protecting the United Kingdom’s secrets, foiling villainous plots, getting the girl and most importantly - breaking every road law there can be broken while commuting between jobs - James Bond is a bit of a greenie, and in
The famed British spy will be driving an electric version of his traditional wheels of choice - an Aston Martin.
In a story originally published in The Sun, it was revealed that the team behind the next Bond film - which will be released next year starring Daniel Craig - had been working with Aston Martin to get one of their work-in-progress electric models ready in time to be included.
Bonds wheels of choice - the Rapide E sedan - will be Aston Martin’s first electric vehicle, and quite exclusive too with only 155 to roll off the production lines.
The Rapide E was "going to be the center of an incredible action sequence" according to sources familiar with the film.
Here’s hoping it doesn’t get blown away, as the Rapide E is expected to sell for a quarter of a million pounds - or roughly half a million Australian dollars.
The Rapide E is expected to go into production at the end of this year, and will have a range of around 320 km.
The next installation of the Bond franchise -Shatterhand - will be Daniel Craig's last hurrah in the role, and what better way to send him off, than silently in an electric vehicle.
