2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 S coupe leaked in production trim
Images that are claimed to be of the upcoming Mercedes-AMG C63 S coupe have been published online.
After a series of spy photos and officially sanctioned teasers, the new Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S coupe will be officially unveiled and launched in just a few days time.
Overnight, though, Zero2Turbo managed to obtain and publish two photos of the new performance coupe in all its showroom-ready glory.
These images look as though they were captured at a pre-launch event and are of the C63 S coupe. If these photos are indeed accurate, the C63 S coupe will be distinguished by a more aggressive front and rear fascia, revised sills, a subtle boot-lip spoiler, and blacked out chrome, alloy wheels and wing mirrors.
It's widely expected that the new AMG-fettled C-Class coupes will feature the same drivetrain options of its sedan and wagon siblings. That means the standard-spec C63 coupe will powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 350kW of power and 650Nm of torque.
Meanwhile the C63 S variant should have a more powerful version of that engine with 375kW/700Nm on tap. Both engine types are paired with rear-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The C63 sedan has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds, while the brawnier C63 S sedan is able to complete the same metric in four seconds flat.
In Australia, Mercedes-Benz offers only the more powerful C63 S model in its sedan and wagon lineup. The less feisty versions of the new C-Class coupe range were launched just four days ago, and you can read all about them here.
