China will get its own unique version of the new Honda HR-V as these images from the Chengdu Motor Show reveal.
Known as the XR-V, the new compact SUV is understood to ride on the same platform underpinning Australia’s new HR-V, revealed first as the Vezel in 2013.
Both models share an identical glasshouse and roofline, but this Chinese-market model is set apart from its global stablemate by a completely re-styled front, rear and profile design.
Front-end changes see the XR-V embrace a shallower grille design, flanked by narrower headlights and a bold lower bumper treatment.
At the rear, the XR-V’s LED tail-lights stretch across the width of the tail gate, replacing the smaller scalpel-like units of the HR-V.
