HONDA CONFIRMS TURBO CIVIC TYPE R
Put all rumours, reports and ringside comments out of your mind, because now it's a fact: Honda's new Civic Type R hatch will draw power from a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Confirming the details at this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Honda Europe president Manabu Nishimae said the engine will product "at least" 280 PS, or around 206kW.
Those figures will make the new 'CTR' more powerful than Volkswagen's new Golf GTI and Ford's Focus ST, not to mention Renault's Megane RS.
It will match Opel's Astra OPC however, which also features a 206kW 2.0 litre turbo engine.
