Honda Australia has introduced the updated Insight hybrid this week, bringing updated styling and improved fuel consumption for the 2012 model year.
On the styling front, the 2012 Insight gets a new grille and revised headlights, along with new front and rear bumper designs.
Inside, there's a new rear seat-bench and hatch lining, designed to offer better head and leg-room. The dash has also been tweaked with new cup holders in the centre console.
Rear visibility is also improved, thanks to a smaller rear-wiper housing and longer wiper blade, a slimmer rear spoiler and an enlarged roof lining.
Honda says it has also reshaped the underbody to achieve a two percent aerodynamics improvement,
Combined with reduced friction in the 1.3 litre i-VTEC petrol engine and CVT transmission, Honda says it has achieved a drop in fuel consumption from 4.6 to 4.3 l/100km on the combined cycle.
CO2 emissions have also fallen, down 5.5 percent to 103 grams per kilometre.
Feature upgrades see the VTi pick up LED daytime running lights, integrated Bluetooth with steering-wheel mounted controls and new door mirrors with side turn indicators.
The VTi-L gains the same LED daytime running lights and a leather gear shift knob.
Pricing
Pricing remains unchanged at $29,990 for the Insight VTi and $33,490 for the VTi-L.
