2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport price and specs: Second facelift up to $2400 dearer

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4WD has been given another styling update – with higher prices and extra features – ahead of an all-new model due next year.

  • 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport pricing and specifications
  • Revised front and rear styling, new wheel design
  • New features for GLX, GSR
  • Priced from $51,540 before on-road costs

The updated 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has arrived in Australia with revised styling and price rises of $1600 to $2400.

Shown in Thailand earlier this year, it is the second – and likely final – facelift for the current nine-year-old Mitsubishi Pajero Sport before an all-new model arrives next year on the underpinnings of the latest Triton ute.

It gains updated styling and new interior technology, but as anticipated Australia misses out on the newer '4N16' engine available in Thailand, derived from the new Triton – rather the older '4N15' engine is retained.

The older engine develops 133kW/430Nm, with an eight-speed automatic transmission – rather than the newer unit's 135kW/430Nm, with a six-speed auto.

Mitsubishi Australia has culled two-wheel-drive models from the local Pajero Sport range, so the entry price is now $6600 dearer, at $51,540 plus on-road costs.

Compared to equivalent 4x4 models in the 2023 range, the 2024 model is $1600 to $2400 more expensive.

New for the latest update are restyled front grille inserts, tweaked 18-inch alloy wheel design – finished in a single tone on the GLX, two-tone on the GLS and Exceed, and black on the GSR – plus revisions to the rear bumper.

The previous GSR's black headlight 'extensions' are now standard across the range.

Inside, there is a new steering wheel borrowed from the latest Triton ute, plus new graphics for the 8.0-inch instrument display in the Exceed and GSR, with fresh start-up animations and graphics.

The GSR gains black and burgundy synthetic leather-look interior upholstery, and dark titanium-coloured highlights in the cabin.

The ability to use regular cruise control – instead of radar-guided adaptive cruise control – has been removed, with the cruise control button on the steering wheel now enabling adaptive cruise control by default.

Dusk-sensing headlights and rain-sensing wipers are now standard on the GLX – rather than exclusive to the GLS and up – while the GSR scores black mirror caps, door handles and tailgate handle.

A Graphite Grey exterior colour has been added to the GSR – with a black roof – while the other variants can be finished in the new Triton's Blade Silver paint.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is available now.
